The Project includes the following Work:
The work of this project includes all labor, tools, equipment, materials and supplies for the installation of an open channel, gravity flow, low pressure high intensity ultraviolet lamp (UV) treatment system complete with an automatic mechanical/chemical cleaning system and variable output electronic ballasts at the Town of Manteo’s existing Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) to replace the plant’s existing chlorine disinfection. This project shall also include the demolition of the existing chlorine contact chamber’s baffle walls; partial removal of the structure walls between the chlorine contact chamber and post aeration basin; lowering of the effluent weir wall and replacement of the effluent weir; reinforced, cast-in-place concrete wall, slab and channel walls for the UV system, slide gates, structural steel framing, grating, stairs and handrails; site grading and sidewalk additions; demolition of the existing standby generator; permanent standby generator, automatic transfer switch; reinforced, cast-in-place concrete generator pad, site improvements; electrical; lighting; telemetry modifications, and all other items shown on the project drawings or included in the contract specifications.
Pre-bid Conference
A pre-bid conference for the Project will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at the Town of Manteo Town Hall located at 407 Budleigh Street, Manteo, North Carolina 27954. Attendance at the pre-bid conference is encouraged but not required.
Bids for the construction of the Project will be received by the Town of Manteo at the Town Hall located at 407 Budleigh Street, Manteo, North Carolina 27954, until Thursday, December 14, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. local time. At that time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read.

Prospective Bidders may obtain or examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office on Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office as described below. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office.
Printed copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office upon receipt of a non-refundable payment of $100.00 for each set. Make checks for Bidding Documents payable to Green Engineering, P.L.L.C.
